About Don Rae - Budding Star Traks Writer

Don Rae (that's me) was born in 1969 and lives in the province of Alberta, in the extremely cold country of Canada. He spent his youth moving from town to town, city to city, just getting to know people and then having to move on.  Don wasted most of his time during his youth watching science fiction and comedy programs and movies.  Don always cheered for the bad guy in the hockey mask to win in all of the cheesy slash/horror flicks of the mid-80's, mainly because it annoyed his sister so much.  He played a lot of videogames as a youth, turning his brain to mush while consequently driving him into poverty at a very early age.

Don skimped quite a bit on his practical education, opting for a 2 year diploma course in Computer Business Systems at Keyano College in Fort McMurray, Alberta back in 1989...instead of being smart about it and going to university for a proper degree.  In his real life line of work, he does IT systems consulting, whenever he can find any kind of steady job.  Don's a specialist in developing databases and business systems applications, network systems, and supports several kinds of computer operating systems and environments.  If you really want someone to do the job right, then hire him.  He's really great at what he does.  If you want someone to pay lip service to the boss, then find someone else.  Yes, Don really has a problem with certain kinds of authority figures in his life.

Don spent a lot of his young adult years making a lot of money and then going completely broke shortly afterward, time and time again.  Truly, he is an entrepreneur at heart.  Hopefully, he still may yet develop some good business and money handling sense in the bargain.  Don plays the lottery in the faint hope this won't matter at all.  Yeah.  Right.

Aside from running a few hobby websites and finding trouble wherever he goes, Don also dreams of becoming a famous rock musician someday in a very typically juvenile male type of fashion.  Don maintains a home recording studio and performs at live gigs by himself or with a semi-pro rock band whenever he can find the time.  He plays guitar and keyboards, and he doesn't know which instrument is his favorite one to play.  The band he usually plays with, appropriately called "Retro" because of all the classic rock they end up playing, has performed in front of Nazareth and Kim Mitchell, as well as several bandstand and charity gigs.  He has composed music for other productions...such as the theme music from the animated short "Sev Wars" - this can still probably be found somewhere at the "Atomfilms" internet film site at http://www.atomfilms.com

Don's involvement with "Star Traks" began when he revitalized his long time interest in writing comedy scripts and science fiction stories, and of developing a stand up comedy act to supplement his spare time, of which he seems to have a fair amount of when he's short of work.  (Yes ladies and gentlemen...Don has a real "bright future" ahead of him).  Thus, "Star Traks" was a natural outlet for his creative talents, limited as they are.

Don has no current attachments, even though he has been through an abnormal amount of failed personal relationships.  All of this makes you want to just run over and introduce yourself, right ladies?

Don would like to thank Alan Decker for his encouragement and praise of Don's Star Traks work, even though he might be pulling his pud...but it's really the thought that counts.  Don truly admires Alan's ability to write intelligent and zany comedy in his unique screenwriting style, which has inspired him to write Star Traks stories of his own creation.  Maybe someday, Don might just make something of himself if he keeps it up.  Then again, maybe not, considering his track record to date.  Again, maybe it's really the thought that counts.

Don hopes you enjoy his Star Traks stories, and doesn't really want to hear any criticism about them at all.  Praise and honors are always solicited and accepted, although he expects absolutely nothing of the sort.
