The Escort was added to the Explorer project as a companion vessel--a ship that can scout ahead into dangerous regions
while the Explorer remains behind in relative safety. It's also used by the captain and crew for personal jaunts and escapades.

This fishing boat primarily served the rivers of the Eastern Shore of what once was the nation-state of Maryland on Earth. It
provided tours of these rivers, and chartered fishing expeditions. With the exception of a minor time-traveling incident, its
record is totally lacking wierdity.
