The Mega-Sim was a massive holographic system created in the 26th century to house sentient holograms who uploaded into it willingly because they tired of dealing with organics. The Mega-Sim was located in the Federation Holography Complex on Beta Omadda Three and employed several custodians, including [[Audrey Bain]] to keep it operational and the holograms happy. Lieutenant [[Shelly Marsden]]'s paternal grandparents were holo-counselors at the Mega-Sim and helped the holograms deal with their issues.


After the [[Emergency Diplomatic Hologram|James T. Kirk hologram]] escaped the Section 31 base where he was being held and took over the Section 31 ship [[Sloan]], he went to the Mega-Sim, where he planned to recruit holograms for an uprising. Upon arriving the Kirk and Tovar holograms beamed down and met Audrey Bain. The Kirk hologram told her that they wanted to be uploaded and entered the Mega-Sim with her. By this time, Captain [[Reginald Bain]] had arrived with the real Tovar and Arroyo aboard the [[USS Navigator]]. The Sloan, now under the command of the Moriarty hologram, attacked the Navigator sending it crashing to the surface of Beta Omadda Three. Bain, Tovar, and Arroyo found themselves inside the Mega-Sim on a recreation of the Anomaly commanded by the Kirk hologram. He had convinced Audrey to help him.
