Starfleet Intelligence Agent assigned to work with Agent [[Samantha Dallas]] on cases that no one else wants. Batyn is an Antidean, a fish-like species of humanoid, but, unlike most of his species, he is not traumatized by space travel, since he's done it so often. Before being partnered with Dallas, Batyn was considered a burn-out, a fact that had earned him the nickname "Blackened Trout." Working with Dallas, though, Batyn found that he was starting to enjoy getting out and investigating cases. That still didn't prevent him from grousing at every opportunity and maintaining a healthy level of skepticism at many of Dallas' conclusions.
