	On the [[USS Enterprise-J]], Captain [[Barnum Dax]] is on a comm with the leader of the Bolians, who informs Dax that their planet will be seceding from the Federation and joining the Vulcan Alliance. 	After three more worlds leave the Federation for the Vulcans, Admiral [[Kristen Larkin]] sends the [[USS Anomaly]] to [[Brialis Seven]] to convince them to join the Federation. Bain and Commander [[Prosak]] beam down to the world for the negotiations only to find the population in a bit of a panic and the Vulcans already there. The Anomaly sees over 100 Brialan ships leaving the planet carrying over 700,000 people. 	Back on the Anomaly, Bain and Prosak are summoned to the bridge for a red alert. A massive pinkish sphere, three times the size of Brialis Seven is approaching the planet after having swallowed up Brialis Six. Dr. [[Natalia Kasyov]] determines that it is a single-celled organism and at its present speed, it will reach Brialis Seven in a little less than 24 hours. Faced with this new threat, the Vulcans leave, and the Brialans comm the Anomaly saying that they’ve reconsidered and decided to join the Federation.
