Instead, they end with with Captain [[Alexander Rydell]], who uses his newfound powers to truly experience the universe, driving the Borg crazy in the process. Finally, the Collective begs the Secondprize crew to take Rydell back. The crew stage a daring (and complete fake) rescue, reclaiming Rydell and getting a promise from the Borg that they will protect the Secondprize from any future attacks. This story was written a couple of years after ''[[Please Hold For Oblivion]]'' and was originally supposed to be a one-shot. I had the idea and just couldn't let it go. Soon after I completed it, I had more ideas and ended up developing the Lost Years.

"It's Good To Be King" was 2nd place in the Best Humor/Parody category in the 2000 Alt.StarTrek.Creative awards.
