Dr. [[Natalia Kasyov]] is frustrated with the way the search is progressing and confronts Captain [[Reginald Bain]] about his lack of action. She convinces him to fit the [[USS Navigator]] with the Anomaly’s cloaking device and go back to the Associates testing world to rescue [[Balpar]] and [[Loborus]]. Bain takes her, Lieutenant [[Shelly Marsden]] and most of the ship’s security officers, leaving Lieutenant Commander [[Tovar]] behind because of his pregnancy. He puts Commander [[Prosak]] in command of the Anomaly with orders to keep searching for the resistance. He also sends Tovar a private message that says to keep an eye on Prosak and that he is to relieve her of command and confine her to quarters if she shows signs of disobeying Bain’s orders.

Most of the Pulsans return to their ships, while Bain, Balpar, Cranius, Loborus, and the others beam up to the Navigator. They evade several Associates ships by using a weapon that made the Associates vessels disappear, then they set course for the Anomaly. Balpar is disappointed to learn that the resistance hasn’t done much in the way of resisting while he’s been gone.

			Prosak introduces the bridge crew to the Kirk hologram, whom she has dubbed their Mission Mediator. Kirk wants to find an Associates base and blow it up, but Prosak says that they are going to find a way home. Prosak orders the crew to head toward the nearest M-class planet, then has Kirk join her in the ready room (now her quarters), where she says that based on his actions, his program is obviously defective, so she is going to shut him down. Kirk knocks her out with the patented Starfleet double-fist maneuver, takes her commpips, and mimics her voice to have the ship’s computer transfer command to him. This emergency protocol also gasses the crew with neurozine, knocking all of them out except Tovar, who was in a transparent aluminum tube in sickbay have an exam.

			The Navigator arrives and, after unsuccessfully attempting to get the Associates to stand down, cloaks to get out of the fray while Bain waits for Tovar to act.

			Kirk detects Tovar heading toward the primary holographic junction and sends the Anomaly away from the Associates before transferring his program down to the junction. The Navigator pursues.

After a second song, Kirk attacks Steve!, giving Tovar an opening to place an explosive on the primary holographic junction and dive into the nearby Chief Comptroller (Fancy name for Inventory) Office just before the junction is destroyed, taking the two holograms with it.

			Loborus reveals to Balpar and Kasyov that he can detect Cabral if he is close enough.

			The Anomaly is damaged from fighting the Associates, and with the primary holographic junction gone, the holochef, holopods, and Steve! are all gone. Additionally, the Navigator’s engines are severely damaged from pushing to catch up with the Anomaly. While making repairs, they go to join Balpar’s rebels.

			Bain removes Prosak from duty and tells her that he is going to have words for Admiral Larkin when they get back to the Milky Way.

			Chief Comptroller [[Martin Kawafura]] finds that his padd is now giving him strange error messages. He can’t get rid of it, though, since it’s on the ships inventory manifest.
