Why is it that whenever Andorians visit the station, there's always trouble?
Summary
During one of the many breakfasts that Commander Walter Morales and Stephanie Hodges have started spending together, Waystation receives a distress call from an Andorian transport ship. Aboard the transport is the cult of the Z'arkbelst, a group devoted to serving the living personification of their diety. In this case, said deity is Joel Hodges, the older brother of Stephanie Hodges. The siblings haven't seen each other in 20 years, ever since Joel reached the age of 18 and ran off to Andor to be worshipped. After the ship is towed to the station, Stephanie Hodges and Captain Lisa Beck, who has known Joel since she was a child, spend a little time catching up. The cult of the Z'arkbelst was forced to leave Andor after a problem with their cult registration. Z'assy, the head of the group of Andorians that worship Joel, tried to work it out. There were some fights, a few beheadings, and Z'assy disemboweled the Undersecretary for Cults, Parks, and Recreation and had his pancreas bronzed. The cult is relocating to the Andorian colony in the region.
Meanwhile, Ops detects a small explosion in the Dillon Enterprises levels, and later Federation President Bradley Dillon goes to the Infirmary to have a bad cut on his arm dealt with. When pressed for an explanation, Bradley says that someone is trying to kill him.
That evening, while Beck is having dinner with Phillip Harper in her quarters, Joel drops by unexpectedly with several of his Andorian entourage. He tells her that the cult is leaving now that that he's just come by to get her. When she protests, the Andorians knock out Phillip while Joel jabs Beck with a needle, drugging her into unconsciousness as well. Hodges and Commander Morales don't find out what has happened until the next morning and take off in the USS Wayward to get Beck back. When Beck regains consciousness, she is on the Andorian ship on her way to the colony. Z'assy informs her that she has been chosen as the consort to the Z'arkbelst and has no choice but to comply with his wishes. En route, Morales and Hodges have a talk. Hodges is trying to figure out whether their growing closeness is a sign that Morales is interested in her. He is, and the autopilot is engaged as Hodges and Morales...um...celebrate.
Beck is taken to Joel, who fully expects her to present herself to him. He is the Z'arkbelst and used to getting whatever he wants. Now he wants Beck. Beck tries to hold him off by talking about their childhoods. Morales and Hodges catch up with the Andorians just as they are landing at the colony. They storm the ship, Hodges has some strong words with and a solid punch for her brother, and they take Beck out of there. Beck tells Joel that she'll come back and visit some time. He won't even have to kidnap her. When Hodges scolds Beck for flirting with her brother, Beck notes that Hodges has a hickey on her neck and strolls off into the waiting Wayward.
