Miranda-class ship given to Travis Dillon during his brief stint as a captain. The Edsel was mainly a patrol ship assigned to the Klingon border, but it was in spacedock for a refit when word of Dr. Reginald Smythe's discovery on Gulax Four reached Starfleet. The Edsel was immediately sent to investigate. After blundering the assignment, Dillon was removed from command.
