Audrey Bain was the youngest biological child of Reginald Bain and Rosalyn Bain. Reginald and Audrey did not have a great relationship. At one time she dated a Breen, which was awkward for the Starfleet Officer known as "The Butcher of Breen."
Audrey worked as a custodian at the Mega-Sim, where she was responsible for caring for the holograms that lived in it. She enjoyed uploading into the Mega-Sim via a neural tap chip. After the James T. Kirk hologram and Tovar hologram beamed down to the Mega-Sim, they met Audrey and told her that they wanted to be uploaded. She realized they were wearing mobile emitters a bit too late and was uploaded into the Mega-Sim with them. By this time, Bain had arrived with the real Lieutenant Commander Tovar and Ensign Hector Arroyo aboard the USS Navigator. The Sloan, now under the command of the Moriarty hologram, attacked the Navigator sending it crashing to the surface of Beta Omadda Three, where the Mega-Sim was located. Bain, Tovar, and Arroyo found themselves on a recreation of the Anomaly commanded by the Kirk hologram. When Bain asked what Audrey was doing there, she replied that she was helping Kirk make a difference once more time. She accused Bain of being an absent father and loving Tovar more than his actual daughters. While working to free as many holograms as he could, the Kirk hologram revealed to Audrey that he could alter their ethical subroutines, so they'd kill organics. Audrey ended up helping her father escape the simulated Anomaly and took him to the Voyager's Emergency Medical Hologram, who taught Bain how to fight like a hologram. Bain used these skills to attack the Kirk hologram at the same time a team from the Anomaly arrived to rescue Bain and the others. Realizing that things were not going his way, the Kirk hologram tried to transfer his program to an Yridian ship, but he was intercepted by Rosalyn Bain, who took him back to the Section 31 facility. He was returned to a holographic simulation of his USS Enterprise, but one where holograms of his crewmates beat him relentlessly. Audrey had been working for Section 31 the whole time and lamented the need to lie to her father. (Illusions Of Grandeur - Part One, Illusions Of Grandeur - Part Two [BG])
Section 31 sent Audrey onto the Romulan Warhawk Shakalak in disguise as the ship's first officer, Sub-Commander Nural because Section 31 believed that circumstances on that ship and with the Vulcans overall were not what they seemed. After the Shakalak was damaged in battle with the Vulcans, the ship was repaired by Starfleet and needed a new tactical officer. Tovar took the opportunity to escape his troubles on the Anomaly by volunteering to go. Once he was aboard, Audrey revealed her identity to him and told him that they would be saving Earth but they wouldn't be coming back. (Strategic Retreat [BG])
