Whiteford didn't perform too well in his last posting aboard the USS Banodyne. The ship got hijacked by the Selskan's and cut into tiny little pieces which were too small for Starfleet to reassemble. Whiteford didn't perform too well in his last posting aboard the USS Banodyne. The ship got hijacked by the Selskan's and cut into tiny little pieces which were too small for Starfleet to reassemble. When the Devonshire arrived to rescue the crew of his previous ship, Roger volunteered to join what was rapidly becoming the 'Ship of the damned', and to his immense surprise, though not that of his new shipmates, his request was accepted.
