Roger Whiteford

Lacklustre first officer of the USS Devonshire in 2273.

Whiteford didn't perform too well in his last posting aboard the USS Banodyne. The ship got hijacked by the Selskan's and cut into tiny little pieces which were too small for Starfleet to reassemble. When the Devonshire arrived to rescue the crew of his previous ship, Roger volunteered to join what was rapidly becoming the 'Ship of the damned', and to his immense surprise, though not that of his new shipmates, his request was accepted.

Once aboard, his true colours shine through, he's crude, crass and definitely out for Stone's job, but above all, He's Welsh.

He even slept with the wife of a planetary official in return for which, he gave the official Doctor Jade Warden as a gift. Not above treachery, bribery and downright dirty tricks to get what he wants.

As Lieutenant Kathryn Tremane puts it, "Being anti-welsh isn't racist, on this ship, it's a survival instinct."
